Here at First Presbyterian Church we take teaching the faith of Jesus Christ seriously. That is how we started and that is still a focus all these years later. We provide a number of ways to be nurtured in your faith, whatever your age. We believe that learning about God, exploring God’s Word, and discovering Christ’s will for your life are the most important things we can do.

Children

Sunday school

The church hosts a number of classes after worship services on Sunday morning. Children ages 3 thru 5th grade participate in our Children’s Sunday School program. Using a rotation model of education, the children spend several weeks on the same Bible story, learning it in a variety of hands-on ways.

Vacation Bible School

For one week out of the summer the church hosts Vacation Bible School. Running from 9-11:30 am Monday thru Friday, children 3 years old to 6th grade gather to learn about God, Jesus Christ, and God’s love for them. Using games, storytelling, crafts, and singing volunteers teach the kids that God loves them.

Youth (6th-12th grade)

Youth Group

Youth Group gathers at 6:00 pm on Sunday evenings during the school year for a little bit of learning, and lots of fun. All are welcome.

Confirmation

For those youth 8th grade and higher who are serious about becoming active members in the church, confirmation class is an important step. A one year class taught by our pastor, confirmation class is a time to learn about the faith we proclaim, our history, and our values before you take over as a full member in the congregation. For more information about confirmation class, please contact Pastor Lance or the church office.

Sunday School

The church seeks to provide educational opportunities for the middle school and high school youth on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. Classes on faith development as well as on Old and New Testament Scriptures help prepare youth for the challenges they face and the responsibilities of following Jesus. This Fall the 6th and 7th graders will be studying the Bible with a topical Bible study that strengthens biblical understanding and gives youth a firm faith foundation.

Adults

Sunday School

Adult Sunday School is held Sundays at 11:00 a.m.
The adult Sunday school class studies a variety of biblical books/genres as well as other topics of theology and daily living.
