Friday morning I will be flying to Minneapolis/St. Paul for the 219th General Assembly of the PCUSA. My specific job as as commissioner is as a member of the "Bills and Overtures" Committee. That committee's task is to understand the issues that each specific committee has and help set the agenda for the whole group. The downside of this assignment is that it is horribly "administrative" and terribly "political." The upside is that I get to understand what the major issues are facing the General Assembly.

In addition to my job as an Elder Commissioner, I will be working with the Board of the Presbyterian Association on Science, Technology, and the Christian Faith. I am a member of the board for this group, which seeks to help the denomination deal with issues of science, technology, and theology.
