Today we visit the Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu, the traditional site of the home of Caiaphas and the denial of Peter (Gallicantu means “cock crow” in Latin).
Read Luke 22:54-62
Today’s pilgrimage is one of deep self reflection. We ask the question, “How do I disclaim the Christ who has claimed me?” We speak a lot of free will and our choices, often wanting control of important matters, like our own salvation and faith in God. Yet, when the rubber meets the road and our will is actually needed, to choose to actively follow Christ in sacrifice and love, we often fail and show another, any other, allegiance with our lives. How will you choose to show Christ’s love today to your family, your co-workers, your fellow pilgrims, and the stranger?
As you pray today, pray for courage to claim the one who claimed us from the very beginning.
