Overheard in Room 738

Maybe conversation stopped because you said you'd understand

if no one responded to this one. Also you cautioned people

to really think hard before hitting the "send" button.

I addition, this is a topic is one people are uncomfortable discussing.

I thought the sermon was a good one. You had rejection,

acceptance and understanding.

I feel the chaplain's message helped me. A member of our

family has just told us they are homosexual. I'm going to see this

person at a family gathering along with their partner this Saturday.

I've been thinking about what to say and how to react.

The judge that handled our daughter's adoption is homosexual.

She seems like your neighbor and it's all very natural. She shows

you pictures of her kids. She is calm and confident.

I have a feeling that my realtive and her partner are going to be

a lot more "in your face" about their homosexuality.

A homosexual friend of our daughter told her that when someone

first anounces that they are gay they feel they have to show it.

Any helpful advice?
