Questions to Consider

With the youth group last Spring I went over "Christian Perspectives of War" covering the major perspectives of Pacifism, Just War, and Holy War.  Everyone in the room (all youth that is) were in the just war category (some of the boys were more war than just).  But all felt there was a time to fight (for justice, for self preservation, for pride, or whatever).  So my question for you is:

1) What is your perspective on war?

2) How well does Fosdick make the case for pacifism and do you think that is the natural perspective for the Christian Church?

3) What does your perspective lead you to believe about our current state of war in the US and how we respond to that as the church?

Chew on those for a while.  I'll see you after my surgery!
